Hey Reader

There's 3 things I would focus on to grow your photography business in 2026

  1. Niching down. You want to become the go to person for a specific niche or micro niche. Whether that's your photography style, the type of product you work with, a specific location etc. Something that removes all other competition from the equation and makes you the only choice.
  2. Networking. & I don't mean social media. I mean face to face or phone calls. Old school style. Forget about cold DM's and emails and sending people website links. Network with intention, in person (or phone call -> in person) and build a real human connection with your prospective clients. This will do 10x more for you in the long run than spending all day posting and DM'ing hoping someone will want to work with you.
  3. Pricing. You can charge whatever you want, but the key is how you charge for it. Monthly retainers are the most stable, predictable and stress free way you can earn money as a photographer. Package a service that is in demand month in month out, for a reasonable price, provide exceptional value and then never stop. Keep stacking small retainers until you have confidence to add bigger $ retainers. I build my entire business off this and it's been the foundation to my success.

P.s I have 2 goals for 2026 and I'd love the support!

To reach 10k Instagram followers (I've been on there since 2011 and stupid me never took it seriously till 2025)

& to reach 1000 YouTube subscribers (Agian, I joined in 2011.. honestly makes you feel so silly for not taking it serious)
